Hi, my name is Chris Goodman, the owner of Legacy Services.

Growing up, my family was full of entrepreneurs. My aunt ran her own cleaning business which she still runs today. My uncle also ran his own roofing company. They may not sound like glorious endeavors but they did quite well for themselves. I remember as early as middle school I was helping my uncle nail on shingles. Talk about instilling work ethic at a young age!

It was actually working here, on a hot roof in South Carolina, where I met the person who would inspire me to start my business. My uncle’s business partner, Terry Funderburk. He was a brilliant man. Too brilliant to be nailing on shingles. He honestly could have been a historian at a top college. His favorite hobby was reading, of all things. I asked him one day, “Terry, you’re so smart. Why did you decide to go into roofing?” He looked at me & smiled & said, “2 years after leaving the military, I was making $100k a year nailing on shingles.” It’s hard to argue with that! He then suggested the book ‘Think & Grow Rich’ by Napoleon Hill. After reading that book, I realized, that with a simple idea & the determination to pull it off, anyone can ‘Think & Grow Rich.’

Ever since then, I've always wanted to start my own business. So, I finally did! A big part of the reason was wanting the freedom that comes with owning your own business, and living the American dream; from there Legacy Services was born.
